If you missed it, she's having surgery tomorrow on her hip.
We'll miss you, don't be gone long!!! Give that neighbor a big hug for taking care of your plants, and please take it easy.
We love ya:)
Brugie, you take care!!
tiG,
Thanks a bunch my friend for the nice note. I'm sure you will all be having more fun than I am while I'm gone. I'm already thinking about what I can do when I get home. Wish someone would email me with the directions for getting a catalog from Hodniks. I don't have much luck when I go to the site. I know they must have a brug or 12 that I would like to order. I'll go now and be back Tues. or Wed. ready to rock and roll. Well, maybe not that exactly, but at least I can sit at the puter and chat once in a while.
Don't have too much fun without me. :-)
Shirley

tiG,
Thanks........S
dream on those, and you will be better in no time:)
Brugie
I just got a list from them this morning. I forwarded it to you. take care and get well soon.
Susie
tiG,
Where can I see a picture of Roter Vulkan? I hear people talking about it and all I see is that it is a Hybrid. Doesn't tell me what it might look like.
S.
I've looked everywhere, sorry. Hoping someone will pop in with a lead.
tiG,
Maybe when I get home there will be one posted. Just sounds like it might be pretty neat. Hope it isn't too hot here for it.
S.
I'm sure if I remember right that I can't grow that. Goes to show, you can't have them all!! :) Maybe you can grow it and take nice pictures:)
Brugie - my thoughts are with you. If it's hip replacement - the most amazing thing I've ever seen was a friend of mine who had hip replacement- totally unable to walk. Within one week it was a miracle.
Take care - Liz
Brugie, We will be thinking of you. I hope the surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery.
Terry
Brugie - best wishes with your surgery. I hope you've left your brugs in good care ;-) The Rotor Vulcan is a b.vulcanicola. We had a thread about it a while back http://davesgarden.com/showthread/110537.html - however, we still haven't seen a picture of the Rotor Vulcan in flower. Eric how's yours doing?
Shirley,
Take care.
Take care and know all will go well for you. Think positive! Pam
PoppySue,
My Roter Vulkan is growing a bit faster now that the cold weather is setting in. Still hasn't set flowers, but I am just trying to get this one through the winter outside and then hopefully come springtime get some flowers. Roter Vulkan is my favorite for reds. Just haven't been able to get mine to bloom. Seems very termpermental when its shipped and dies back to the ground and then comes back strong from my very limited experience with the one. I have a picture of it in a book, unfortunately I don't know how legal it is to post copyrighted pictures on the web...needless to say I don't have a scanner either.
Brugie, Take care and perhaps we will all get lucky and someone will post a picture of this wonderful hybrid for you in bloom. You live further North then I do by the way so I expect if I can get this one through this far you could grow one with no problem. Sanguinea seems much more tempermental to me.
Ahh, ever the rambler, I have 2 different varieties of arborea rooting in large pots. The Ida seems the strongest and greenest of the two at this early stage. If I get some blooms from any of the arborea's and the Vulcanicola at any stage I will surely cross the two. I do know the arborea if sufficiently large will still die back in Vero Florida, but comes back to bloom in the winter.
Shirley, hope all goes well.
jen
Thanks to Everyone who sent well wishes. I'm home and getting around on the crutches. Just can't sit at the computer for a long period of time. You guys keep things going and growing and I'll check in once in a while to see what is new.
TTYL........Shirley
Brugie, So good to have you back. I am sending wishes for a speedy recovery and hope you are up and running soon.
Terry
i want the pink beauty with the long horns!!
Arlene, Just made out a wish list that I'd like to order from Hodniks.Don't know if I can order now or in the spring but either way these are the ones I will order:
Herrenhauser garten
Culebra
Rosabella
Knightii
Roter vulcan
Pink beauty
Maya
Butterfly
That should give me something to trade with next year.
Hey, everybody, How do I find this Hodniks place? I have a yellow and a pink brug and I gotta have more. I cannot believe how many different ones there are. I think a double would be just beautiful.
Roz, it's http://www.hodnik.com
Arlene I should have pink beauty in the spring. I got it from hodniks. It's just a baby now but if all goes well ...
sue, how was your hodnik's experience?
Actually I got in on Crestedchic's order. I was really worried ... but it turned out great. And the prices even with the shipping were really good.
Roz, dont order any brugs until youve shopped in my yard, okay?
jen
Roz,
Same here...I'm sure we can get you started very well with what I have in Brugs.
Roz,
I should have some extra rooted cuttings in the spring. When I get all mine in the pots and ground, there are bound to be some I don't need that I've rooted more than one of this fall. Everyone here at DG has been so nice to share with me so now I'd like to help others whenever I can. Post again in the spring or write me. The memory gets shorter every day and the desktop gets so full I can't find anything.
S.
Brugie, you are very kind, so glad to have the cuttings you sent me. Waiting for that pic....
Brugs and friends was a great title for this forum. just sent my sis off with more than she wants to do today!!!
Gee, thanks! I do appreciated it.
