CLOSED: Coopers Hawk? on New Years Day

Aurora, CO(Zone 4a)

This beautiful raptor swooped into our back yard and hung out in a tree allowing me just enough time to fetch my camera. Am thinking it's a Coopers.

Tricky to judge size here, but I'm leaning towards Sharp-shinned Hawk - note particularly the square-ended tail.

Thanks for your help. Yes, difficult to estimate his size, but he looked awfully large as he sailed across the lawn. He was just twisting to his right when he took off, instead of turning toward the camera. Danged frustratingly slow to focus 300mm lens, shooting through a window glass. There must be a better way...
