Wahoo!

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

The wahoo bush that I saved a few years back finally produced wahoos this year. They are interesting and unusual enough that I thought I would post some pics. Are any of the wahoos that I gave away at the round up that year doing well?

Just looked it up, and apparently they are quite poisonous.

Here's the Dave's garden entry:

I think I'd best avoid them then. They are pretty though

That looks great Dennis, mine didn't do well under the persimmon, but I have one in a pot that is looking good.
Thank you for showing it to us it sure is pretty.

What a beautiful native plant. I just have so many varieties of animal that I don't plant anything toxic and attractive to children, chickens, dogs or goats

Mine did very well Dennis. I have had several buddies come up underneath and had to take out a few. The little purse looking seed pods are really unique, I had pictures also but can't locate right now. The leaves were quite beautiful too this fall.

Oh, forgot to mention I almost freaked out when it was covered with the wheel assassin bugs in late summer. I am scared of those creepy bugs! I gave about 30 of them a soapy bath! Sorry I know I some consider them a good bug, but I have seen them kill my butterflies and 30 plus couldn't be tolerated with Monarch's migration just around the corner.
