I posted this on the canning forum also, but perhaps I'll have a faster response at this forum.
Although it is December, I have lots of Padrone and Tiberon Peppers still in my garden. We're expecting a huge rain storm so I had to pick them. Can I just pop them in the freezer without scorching the skins?
I realize they will only be used for flavoring or stews or something like that at this point.

Yes, you can just stick them in the freezer. They will lose their consistency but not their flavor. It may not be the preferred way of freezing them but it works just fine.
