Hi, I actually heard this bird in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN, last week.

Is that possible to identify it?
Thanks,

CLOSED: Bird ID by sound?
It sounds like the call of a Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis ). http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Northern_Cardinal/sounds
Emm, probably, though I find it sounds a little more "rapid" (I mean, more calls in a fixed amount of time) than the Northern Cardinal sounds in my impression. Maybe there are multiple Northern Cardinals singing.
Thanks,
Cui
Usually Cardinals sing to one another, back and forth. The male will call and the female answers it.
