Preview Pane missing! HELP

I have had everyone (Sear's Online Tech, DD, anyone that can turn a computer on...trying to find my Preview Pane in My Documents! (It may be called something else, but when I want to look at a picture I have stored in My Documents I used to be able to single click on one, and it showed a little thumb nail picture in the bottom left hand corner...now it is missing! Sear's had me D/L IE 5.5 Service pack 2. It did put the information about the pictue (i.e. title and KB), but the scroll bar doesn't come up there...and no thumbnail. any ideas? TIA for any help! Jo
