October Blooms!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Some things in my garden are gearing up to bloom. Until then, I have these pretties strutting their stuff.

The first one is not a bloom, but I couldn't resist. A gulf frit cat chomping away on my passiflora foetida.

You really think the Mexican petunia cares about football?

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

HaHa! If that was the case, TCU would win all the time! Looks great Stephanie. My goldenrod never made it through the winter

The up and down weather are providing life to my garden.
The variegated canna just keeps on putting up vibrant blooms and the hummers are thankful.
A new daylily, not only survived the trip from a DG'er's garden up north, it apparently loved being planted in August.
So far so good, these echinacea are doing well, a first for me.
My Turks cap is a total butterfly magnet.

If you can get any seeds for the golden rod can I have some. I'd be glad to send an SASE or trade. I see them on the side of the road but nothing on the property.

It's a mess out there but still some blooms.

Lisa, I'll try to get you some seeds. I started with one little plant and this year they really multiplied.

Cheryl, looking good!

Was out in the garden yesterday to sort thru all my new plants from the RU when suddenly I saw that there were butterflies everywhere. Sorry, no camera. I've never seen so many at one time before. At least not in my yard. They were on the milkweed and some scarlet sage and turks caps, and the little greg's mist I got at the spring RU and I don't know what all. I think they were all getting a little high from nectar or whatever. Twas a wonderful sight.

Yes, the monarchs are passing through and it is wonderful to see them, enjoy they won't stay long.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Josephine, how long do they stay? (Not there anymore, but we're coming back for my daughter's UNT concert on Monday....)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Hello Carrie, sorry you are not here any more. The monarchs usually stay about two weeks, just enough to refuel for the journey.

No more flowers left in Pa, drizzly for Halloween
