We had a terrible summer for butterflies in MI this summer but right before we left another Monarch showed up. That made 3 for the summer which was better than last year. We drove from MI to MD over 2 days and I was pleased to see a lot of Monarchs as we were driving the highways. We pulled into our organic farmer to get some tomatoes before going home and his Zinnia cut flower patch was alive with butterflies including many Monarchs. He also has a large patch of Milkweed on his property. I will try to get photos as my camera was buried but it was nice to see Monarchs as the dominant flying butterfly on our long trip.
