I have Muscovy ducks about two months old now, we have them in an enclosed pen and something pushed in the sides of the pen and got in and took three of my baby's- well I am left with five but two of them are injured and I believe they were trying to get out of the pen when all the ruckus was going on and they have open sores on their heads and loss of an eye for each of them too. I have been using witch hazel which is an astringent used for cuts and such. I am going to get some vetericyn which is used for animals with open wounds and such. my dilemma is what could I make to hold them in place so I can clean up their wounds and get the healing process going. any suggestions would be appreciated, their necks also seem to be a little crooked and they cant seem to move them so freely as they did. do you think they will heal and not to worry about it.
thanks for your help in advance

muscovy ducks
For restraint I would try wrapping them snugly in a large towel - maybe a wet one. Alu-Spray (Tractor Supply, Steinhausers) is good for creating a protective barrier on open wounds. I think they will probably recover with time as long as their necks don't prevent eating and drinking. I hope you are also building them a more secure habitat...
I will give the towel idea a try. thanks- we thought the one we had was secure we had other ducks in there and nothing ever got it- this time they actually pushed thru- had to be something pretty big I would think- Any how yes I have moved them in for the nights now, and no chance of them being attacked again.
thanks for your advise
How are the babies?
I am happy to say that my two muscovy's that were not well from the attack that evening are doing well, I got some vetercyn from tractor supply and applied it twice a day to their heads which had big gauges and they are all healed and well. Thank goodness! We have installed a electric fence around their area which is keeping them safe from predators. They were pretty stressed out for a couple days but are growing and playing with the others.
Awsome! Love outcomes like this
Conroe. Everything likes to eat ducks and chickens. Had an owl that actually peeled tin off a shed roof- i know, but I saw it- possums, coons, coyote, feral dogs, the wild cats we have, will throw their bodies into the wires to get them,
