Guess who?

Xai-Xai, Mozambique

Hello everyone,

You old-timers will remember me as Isaac (my username was "westraad") from Mozambique, from a few years ago. I am back here on DG again, though won't be able to write much due to lack of time.

Those of you who recognize me please tell me how you are!

God has been so good in my life. I Hope you all are well!

Warmly,
Isaac

Well, that's a surprise. When you disappeared I thought you might have gone back to ZA. There's been quite a few changes here, and a lot of people moved to a different site. But still some of the 'old faces' around. There'll probably be a few drop in later, with the time zone difference. Anyway, good to see you back.

Thank you, tropicbreeze, good to see you too! Yes, I remember many moved to Cubits.org, I was on there for a time but never seemed to get the hang of it. Hope to get to know some of the new people on here too :-)

I am still here in Mozambique, and am now full-time into missionary work. Last time I was on here I was still busy with high school.

Must admit that I have gotten a bit slack in my garden lately, I have it set up as very low maintenance, but I want to start working more in it again!

Glad to see you back again Issac!!

As you can see, I'm still around. A few others are also as tropic said. We pop in and out of here as the tropical (and non tropical breezes) allow. :~)

Thank you so much, Pepper!! :-)

Hi.

I know of only one gardener on DG from Mozambique. But this old geezer's memory has a tendency to forget names. I think you're the same friendly one I encountered a few years ago.

Welcome back. Good to "see" you.

Please join us on the Pull Up A Chair No. 96 (XCVI) and meet the wonderful people that haunt the place:

It's a good place to hang out and all you have to do is pull up a chair.

Take care.
Sylvain.

Goodness me. Don't frequent DG so much anymore but here I am and Isaac has left his tracks as well as Pepper, tropic, and Sylvain.

Some will never, ever leave my psychi. I love all of you so much.

I know how busy you are Isaac.

Hope us old faces aren't tiring.

It's harvest season here. Got lots of Kobacha Pumpkin seed & Yellow Pear Tomato if someone can use.

Aloha a nui, Dave

So... What is everybody up to?

My Christmas shopping is all done. Wrapping is left, but that's no worry. I found some beautiful origami paper folding designs for giftwrapping. And I found some 36-inch wide giftwrapping paper. It's as good as done.

Dad and I are sitting outside, finishing our second coffee. It's a delightful 75 degrees (24C), wall-to-wall blue sky, dry and no wind. It's going to be a nice day.

Dad and I cleaned out the 40 gallon (150 liter) aquarium yesterday. We'll age the water for a whole month before we introduce fish into it again. Troical fish don't do well in municipal drinking water, but we drink it. Our water is good, clean and odorless, but the fish don't like it one bit. It's the chloramines they put in there to disinfect it. It gets the fish every time. We were careful to spread that aquarium water on the plants, who love it. It was a big job that required more than half the day. Waiting to get new fish is always long. I have a breeder's name. I'll have to contact him, see what he has and buy 35 or 40 freshwater fish from him. I kept African cichlids (lake Malawi). They were so aggressive they killed each other until only one as left out of 36. And then he died. I have kept African cichlids for over 35 years and frankly, I have had it with cichlids. It's always the same: carnage after carnage. I don't need that anymore. We'll get some peaceful community fish, all of the same species and we'll sleep in peace.

And like I said: what's everyone up to?

Take care.
Sylvain.

Doing well here!
Been helping Wayne at zone9tropicals get ready for winter. Also helping with development of new full time nursery with the purchase of 6 acres in the outer Heights area. Doing much of the work ourselves so its slow going and no opening time scheduled yet. Not sure if we'll call it zone9tropicals or not, although the name is well established.

I see a couple of nights around freezing next week, so will be busy placing in stragglers to the green house. It's been fairly comfortable temp wise and have several Spring time plants activating.

Wishing a Merry Christmas!

Your light display is wonderful, RJ. When one is talented it bleeds over into all of their endeavors.
