OMG. Have you seen this? This guy built a visor or face shield that is a hummingbird feeder. This attracts hummingbirds to come up to his FACE to drink the nectar. I saw it on an old Science Channel recording from 2012. I googled it, and you can apparently buy these now.

Well, I suppose it would get some laughs at backyard picnics -
But if I had a hummingbird that close to my face, I wouldn't be able to focus & see it, so then what is the point?

You know...I hadn't thought of that, but you are right. I guess maybe you could enjoy seeing it on approach though. Actually, I quit feeding the hummingbirds a few years ago. But I probably would have wanted one of these back when I was doing so.
