Poppy Seed Cake............Really so good!

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

2 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
3 eggs
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
1/1/2 teaspoons butter extract
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon butter extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Beat the sugar, oil and eggs in a mixture bowl unti; blended.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
Add to the oil mixture alternately with the milk, mixing well after each addition.
Add 1 1/2 teaspoons almond, butter and vanilla extracts and poppy seeds and mix well.
Pour into a greased and floured bundit pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes to 1 hour or until cake test done. Cool into pan for 10 minutes. invert onto a serve plate. cobine the confectioner's sugar, lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon almond, butter and vanilla extracts in a bowl and mix well. Drizzle over the warm cake.
