I'm considering giving parsnips a try this year but not sure about the proper time to sow seed in central Texas. Can't really find much information on the internet. I'm thinking that they should be planted here the same time as carrots. Any information would be appreciated.
When to plant parsnips
yes, plant at the same time of carrots.
My parsnip never got really big ....
I would speculate the same. My calendar says Aug 25 - October 15 for direct seeding carrots.

I have to laugh b/c I think that I now possess 4 maybe 5 lists of planting dates, including the one listed above from NHG. I did find a database of sorts on Facebook that I think I downloaded successfully. This guy put together some incredible lists along with planting dates. Like companion plants. And enemy plants. And I don't know remember what all.
Just tried to upload it but it's not in jpeg format. Maybe I can convert it. Later.
Yes I've see my fair share of DFW planting calendars now too.. Ive been checking a few at a time and then go off the average.
