Love those Ligs

(Zone 4b)

This has been a perfect summer so far for many perennials up our way i.e. lots of moisture, not too hot temps and enough sun. In particular our now mature enough ligularia look so well in even deep shade.

Here is what I *think* is "Bottle Rocket" and "Little Rocket".

(Just today I planted Ligularia przewalskii "Dragon's Breath")

I think mine is just called "The Rocket." One gets a bit too much shade and doesn't bloom as well.

Hi rouge21! Just seen your posts. I loge ligularias also. They are my favorite plants for the garden. My first picture is golden ray. This one has the largest leaves in my collection. Number three is my hans acrossed the leaves of this one. Number 2 is dark beauty. Mine are just starting to blossom. Then three is golden ray with mt hand stretched over it. 4 im brit marie. I got this one from a swapper and it was no bigger than a thread of string when I got it about 4 years ago. It goes crazy in the shade. I have another brit marie that is so much smaller and older I may have to move it out into the sun more. Then 5 is my midnight lady. Out in the su
n more than all my other ones. But seems to be doing fine. Flowering too. So they all look happy. As you can see mine do get eaten by slugs some. Not as bad as other years. I maybe splitting some of them this fall maybe we could set up a swap or something. I tried little rocket and rocket a couple times but could not find the right place in the yard. Also did the one you said you just planted that started with a "p" that one pooped for me!! Love the jagged leaveson that one. But they all just get the same flowers on them. Kinda nice to have the daisy flowers in the shade.
