Hi There, was looking to see if someone could identify these 2 hawks. I believe them to be Sharp Shinned hawks, but they look really different to me, maybe the blue eyed one is a juvenile. I live in south Florida and we had 2 hawks living in the yard and now there are 4! there seems to be doing a lot of hollering, possibly territory disputes!.
There are 2 different birds here, got good angels on the blue-eyed one last night while he was hunting. We live on a canal/waterway system so lots of good critters for hunting!
Whats throwing me off is the different colored eyes, the chest markings and the leg colors.
Thanks for any info.
Hawk Identification
Cooper's Hawk, adult (#1) and juvenile (##2-4)
Stout legs, not thin ('sharp shins'), strongly capped on the adult, and on the juvenile, neat teardrop streaks (more blotchy on juv. S-s).

Another guy in Florida @trackinsand posted a Cooper's Hawk yesterday also. Are there a lot of them out there? I've never seen a hawk before except in zoos (especially this close!).

Thank you so much for the info!
I dont know about populations of them, but living in South Florida I come across all different types of interesting animals I never thought I would see. Recently saw burrowing owls!! that was a special encounter! But turns out theres alot of burrows. Will keep looking to the skies and taking pics!
