I'll post these over in the right thread once I know what it is... any ideas?
I dug one up from a rent house yard, and have moved it three times since then. It seems to thrive out on the corner by the stop sign in full sun where we now live, having gone from a little seedling into a small bushy perennial. Dies back over the winter.
The other one volunteered in a pot of alyssum and vinca, and I'll put it in the ground once I empty that pot.
I.D. Native Purple please?
Some kind of Ruellia (Mexican Petunia).
I think so too, but it doesn't act invasive the way so many of them do. Thanks!

Found it. Sure doesn't have the same greenery as the other ruellias...
Good ID Dollie, I see you already added it, Thank you.
Is there a way to close this thread?
Why would you want to? Someone else might learn from it.
But if no one posts on it it will eventually disappear off the current page.
Cool. I didn't think of it that way...I just didn't want to pester anyone with an open-ended plea for help. :~D
Dolly, you are NOTTT pestering !
And not all of us are on top of every thread
immediately.
Do you have any seeds collected from this plant ?
No seeds, except the ones it self-sows in the flower beds. :~D
Dollie is right, the seeds are hard to catch, they eject themselves.
Baja, if you would like a plant or two, I can bring them to the R.U.
Jo, that would be great ! thanks !
O.K. please remind me about later.
