These birds were in our back yard, about 15 or so of them. Only two had the black heads ... I presume they are males of the species? The little one was being fed by the other.
CLOSED: Feeding the young. What species?
Dark-eyed Junco (Oregon subspecies). Yep, black heads on adult males, browner heads on females and juveniles.
