She must be happy finally...LOL

I have one like her, actually 2, I would like to shorten them, is it ok to cut them way back or not?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Well they say never cut back more than a third a year.So in a couple years you should have it where you want it.

Oh thank you thank you for the information. Can I plant the third I cut off? I won't have any leaves left except on the third I cut off.

A friend was going to let this ee die because it had lost it bottom leaves so I took it.

I have rooted long trunks a foot or more, but is very hard to do,best to take 3 to 4 inch trunk cuttings, lay on there side in pot, keep moist, about 6 weeks you should see new growth coming up,I have several doing that just now.

Oh that is a great idea. I assume it will root along the trunk where the trunk meets the dirt? That is how I do brug cuttings. I lay the cutting sideways in the dirt and it roots all up and down the cutting. Then I can cut off usually several starts.

Let me know if I am understanding this if you have time, I don't want to kill it.

Exactly, your doing it right, same with cordylines too.

Great. The cordylines I bought this year are sure doing good. I am enjoying them and their red color.

Yes I really enjoy them too!
