I found this bird running around downtown. The only distinguishing feature you can't see in the picture is little orange lines on the underside of its wings when it lifts them up. Does anyone know what it is?

If this bird still lives it would be a good idea for you to contact a wildlife rehabilitator in your area. Here is the listing of those in Iowa
http://www.iowadnr.gov/portals/idnr/uploads/files/wildliferehab.pdf
If this is a native bird, it is illegal to keep it unless you have a permit, or are working under one who does.
Thank you. Will contact a rehabilitator ASAP
