Disaster and cucumber replanting question

Winnsboro, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay, my dad backed his trailer over my cucumbers and ripped them up. I managed to save a few and a good length of one vine. Question is can the vine be rooted and replanted? Got the survivors in water right now. Kind of disturbed my pumpkin vine too but I think it may pull through.

I have never heard of a cucumber vine rooting in water, but I guess it is possible, you have nothing to lose by trying.

Cukes can get touchy when disturbed, throw out a few extra seeds for backup, and good luck with them.

I'd just plant more. It's almost time to plant for fall harvest anyway.

That's what I opted for, just planting more.

I keep resowning and the pill bugs keep eating them..Argh..I finally have a few growing but I'm going to start a few in EBs just in case. At first the soil was too cold and the seeds took forever to germinate but I went out yesterday and found more seed coatings then seedlings.

Pill bugs....that's why I start my seeds indoors, and transplant them out...

gives 'em a fighting chance against the pill bugs....

Usually they aren't this bad still but it's been raining at least a little every day.they thrive under these conditions. I cleared away the leaves and mulch and have seedlings now.

Sluggo Plus will take care of the pill bugs. Put it down when you sow and then when they sprout.

I have been using that but it needs to be reapplied everytime it rains or drizzles and I can't seem to keep up with it. Clearing away the leaves and mulch seems to have really helped and it isn't affected by the rain. : ).

Well one batch is doing okay, and at least I don't have pill bugs :) The new seeds haven't sprouted yet but I'm hopeful.
