I'm new to this site and this is my first post so be gentle with me. :) I've been a bird watcher since childhood although would still consider myself a novice. Wondering if you can help me identify this oriole I've seen in my backyard (upper midwest/SE SD)? I'm leaning towards Orchard but think it may possibly figure into the Bullock's and Baltimore species in a couple of areas. Not sure if I'm looking at female of one or juvenile of another. Just want to be sure before I teach my kids. Thanks so much for your help!
CLOSED: Oriole ID - Orchard, Bullock's or Baltimore?
Welcome to the crowd!
Yep, your leanings are right; the small and slightly curved bill makes it Orchard, while the black throat makes it a first-summer male (around one year old).

Thanks Resin! Much appreciated.
