I have a Hoya. I bought it as a Hoya carnosa 'Hindu Rope', but shortly after I got it the leaves became normal. I did not really care, I got it several years ago as an easy plant for a hot sunny south window. Now It has a variegated leaf sport growing. I am going to layer it, so I can have another Hoya, for free.
Hoya carnosa sport
It sure doesn't look like Hindu Rope. The sport is very pretty.
I got some cuttings from my father's plant, it was huge, bushy and covered in flowers most of the time. My cuttings grew up fast and tall, but have never flowered. They seem to do their own thing, in their own time, as it suits them.
Mine is flowering now. I think it likes the long days. it gets a lot of direct sun, but here in Seattle even direct sun is not powerful like Georgia or Australia.
Mlm, pics needed!
