Mystery tree

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

A bird planted this in my flowerbed last fall. Is it a trash or a treasure? Should I keep or destroy?

Not a good tree if it is Tree of Heaven.
It says on the link that there are many native trees that resemble it, but the natives have serrated leaves and Tree of Heaven does not.
I couldn't tell if you plant has serrated leaves, does it?

It looks like some of the native trash trees- wont be a good tree size either.

Thanks Josephine and Kittriana. Resin (on the Tree Forum) suspects it might be Chinese Pistache. None of these are natives, so I'm going to take it down. I don't need a trash tree, native or otherwise, in my flowerbeds at this time.

It could be a Chinese Pistache, they are both on the invasives list.

We have some of these come up in our yard every stinking year. I keep cutting them down to little avail. I might have to get radical and rent a backhoe.

I agree that it looks like Chinese Pistache. Get rid of it! I 'inherited' some of these trees when I bought my house. They are pretty and they put on a wonderful fall display of color. BUT they are a huge mess. All year. At one time I thought I'd take advantage of the shade they provide and plant some shade loving plants under them. But the trees make such a mess that I would never be able to see anything else planted there. My trees would cost me a small fortune to cut down so I will prob. leave them and whenever I decide to move, let the next people deal with 'em.
