P&C pod
Jean,
You guys are having too much fun with your seed pods. No chance of it here this year. Just checked my brugs in the garage and one of them has no leaves to speak of now, but has set on about 8 blooms. They look a little silly on a plant with no leaves or branches.
Good luck with the seed pod. Is it the only one on the plant? What a surprise you will have when you grow some of the seed and see what you have.
S.
Thanks Shirley! Just hope I can tell when to pick it. It is the only pod on this one, the blooms I tried to pollinate didn't take and fell off. Know what you mean about blooms without leaves, mine did that last year in the basement. They do look strange, but still smell great!

Jean,
check the posting from CC...titled...I Picked the Pod..I just brought it back up....check the color of the stem.
Gloria
cool pods, jean. the double white pod looks nice and lumpy, like seeds poking through. the word peduncle confused me, like Gloria said above it is the stem that joins the pod to the plant. in my ignorance i was thinking it was the tiny little thing joining the pod with the "stem", but i finally had one turn yellow, it is the stem attaching to the branch of the plant. have 60 or 70 seeds off a brugman white hybrid, daddy unknown....
Thanks Gloria and Arlene! I remember seeing CC's pic, but guess my brain registered the seeds and not the stem. lol The stems on mine are still green and the pods are hard, so guess they have a ways to go.
Arlene, I looked at pics I took of the pods when they were tiny, and saw what you are talking about. The part of the pod which is attached to the stem still looks the same as when the pods were 1" long, looks sorta like scar tissue where the calyx was attached. Does that make sense? I will keep a closer eye on the stems themselves.
Thanks a bunch to both of you for the help...maybe I will get good seeds after all! I had fun this summer running around with my q-tips,notebook, and camera!
Jean
JJ, With all the crosses you have made your bound to get something good.
Arlene,...You are going to have a field day with that many seedpods. Several lbs of seeds I am sure. Can't wait for next year to come already.
