I recently turned 65 and as a gift to myself I travelled around the world. Indulgent, admittedly, but that's just me.
When I was in the mountains of Java, Indonesia, I happened on a series of waterfalls surrounded by brugs in various stages of bloom. This was in March, and they were mostly white, so I assume they were natural/indigenous and not hybridized or planted by design. There were about 20-30 plants, about 8-20 ft tall. I'm trying to get my photos online but it was a month-long trip so it's a big job. Just thought I would whet your appetite, and sorry I don't have one to post yet. More to come --Andrew

Andrew, brugmansia are not from this part of the world.
I have contacts in PNG & now Indonesia, bali and they also state that there are brugmansia which are also white
B.suaveolens and in some casses the plants are in such isolated locations they seem like they have had seed drop, however this is incorrect the only brugmansia that is self fertile is B.arborea and this is not the plant that I have seen in photos from these location
My assumption is that the pants are near water courses and have found there way to these location via branches that have floated down stream or when there is a revers currant which dose happen will also move it up stream also. Birds and animals will take it in land where water courses are not and it looks like there have been seed seen in those areas
Sorry and I'm so glade you bought this up did the plants have any seed pods that you noticed?
