I just ordered some Midnight Moon seed potatoes. I want to keep them for fall planting, can I just store them in the fridge? Or do I need to store them some other way?
Growing potatoes question
They need to be stored in a cool dark dry place. A refrigerator would be too cold IMO. Also, with a zone of 8a, you might find them zapped by the cold before they can set potatoes. We had some come up last fall, missed ones from the spring, and they all succumbed to the cold. I even had them mulched with hay.
Hmm. Might be better to just go ahead and plant them then and see how they do. I'll be planting in containers so maybe I can baby them along and at least get more seed potatoes for next spring. Thanks for the info.
