Hi! I would like some help identifying a bug that bit my 6 year old. She found the bug in her little backpack and it bit her while she was trying to get it out. The bite had one 'bite' mark and immediately formed a little swollen ring around it. I know these are blurry pictures, but we zipped the bug up in her backpack until we could identify it. It has small wings on the back, but appears to prefer to crawl.

This appears to be a small bee in the family Halictidae; they have a very potent sting for their size, but fortunately, the effects appear to wear off quickly.
