I received a fig transplant from Josephine at a RU last year, I think. Anyhoo, I've not planted it in the ground yet, but it's in a pot, that is now too small, I'm sure. I noticed that it's starting to form fruits! Should I pluck them off until the plant is established in the ground or just let them go and see what happens. It's on my "to plant" list, but we've got to get our veggies in before we tackle this project.
PS-Sorry for the crummy pic, but you get the idea.
Fig Question
That Fig looks good Stephanie, just leave the fruits in place, if it is not big enough to support them they will just drop off.
Plant it soon Kid.
I plan on getting in the ground next week! Just trying to get the veggie garden all set. It's always something!!
Even if you didn't get it planted, it will do fine in a container. Just make sure it receives ample water. I have a brown turkey fig in a large container for a few years now. It produces the most delicious figs, I've learned that I love them fresh. Good luck with your fig tree.
