Good day! I am new to passifloras and this year will be my first year growing and caring for one. I know that they can take an area over quite easily so I am weary of where to place this beauty. I originally wanted to plant it on a trellis up against the house but after doing some research I learned that may not be a good idea since we have vinyl siding.
I have two old cottonwoods (about 50 ft tall) in our yard that only have limbs toward the top. I am wondering if it would be safe to plant the vine in a pot and allow it to grow up the trunk for the summer. I don't think it would reach the top of the tree but wanted to check here to see if anyone has done this and if the vine would hurt the tree in some way. What do you experts think!?
Thank you so much for your help!
Sarah
