Can someone name this sage?

Houston Heights, TX(Zone 9a)

The foliage is very fuzzy and the blooms have a white throat. Also the buds looked like squares stacked on top of each other.

Ive been going back and forth between Pitcher and Nemerosa. Do you know the diff?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Nope! Sorry. I just know that I got some Pitcher Sage from someone at a RU a couple of years ago and that's what got me thinking that way.

There is a forum for salvias. Maybe someone there can help

Thanks teacup. I did as you suggested.

I am not sure which sage it is, but not Pitcher sage, it's leaves are not fuzzy.

I think it's a variety of nemorosa but cant narrow it down. It is really sky blue and the leaves are wrong for mainacht which is more purple anyway.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

It sure is beautiful :)

Someone over in Plant id said to look at the calyces to determine if Salvia. I did and its calyces were not like Salvia at all. More like scutellaria so I went to plant files to look at those. I think what I have is heartleaf skullcap. Would anyone disagree?

It could be. I have it, the leaves on mine are wider and the bloom spikes not as long.

Thanks Josephine! Mine is in a pot and not that big overall but I also did not include many photos of the bottom of the plant. After seeing your photos, Im sure that is what I have.

Great, I am glad I helped you solve the mystery.
