Martin's

Wingate, MD(Zone 7b)

We live in Maryland, has anyone seen the martin's yet? Son has the martin house up and ready this year on time. Husband is invalid and impatiently watches
for them.

Thanks Peg

Saw my first Sand Martins on Friday (21 March). A few days earlier than normal.

Here is a link to where the Purple Martins are arriving so far this year.

We are planning to go to a Martin workshop next weekend and then decide whether or not to put up the Martin house. We may have a few too many trees close to the house, where the Martins like to be.

Purple Martins are extremely rare here, most likely to be seen in the fall. But Chillybean's link shows them in the Arkansas valley in Kansas, not too far outside Colorado - so I guess I had better watch for them on my planned bird-watching trip to eastern Colorado.
