Park Seed and annual Flower Day

I see Parks Seeds (Greenwood, SC) has decided not to participate in Festival of Flowers activities this year.

"At this point in time we have decided not to participate in the 2014 Festival of Flowers............." explaining they are concentrating on among other things improving their rich soil for the test garden (which also is not being displayed).

Except for the great prices on items for sale on Flower day, I can't say I will miss it much. The glory of the gardens certainly has been missing in the past few years, and trips to the outlet have been a waste of time for me during the past few trips (when it was open); advice? forget it!

For those of us who can remember the glory days of the dedicated (Geo.) Parks family, this business is a big disappointment.

Amen to that. I loved going to the sales during the festival, your could get their "leftovers" for pennies. I remember buying 40 dormant clematis one year for $4. 36 of them lived and are probably still living.
