Saw this article and thought I'd leave a link here. Since I do not plant from seeds, I can't say whether this info is not new and/or not useful. But it sounded clever to me.

Best seed tape
I tried this ONCE and it was a hug failure. Now I just sprinkle seeds.
I have made my own seed tape and seen it for sale. It worked great, when I used it but i'm not really particular about spacing so I just toss them now. I do thin the seedlings but I eat as I go. Lol. I could see where they would be useful for a long row which you just don't want to bother to thin. But you can avoid thinning by using a long strip of toilet paper and put the seeds on that where they are easy to see, and keep at the correct distance, then just barely cover with soil and keep damp until germination. The paper is biodegradable.
