Can anyone tell me when the April market will be open
Dallas Farmers Market
I thought that the Dallas Farmers Market stays open all year. Every day. Just looked at the link and the market is open 362 days a year. I know that there are some smaller neighborhood markets that are only open part of the year. Are you referring to the big market near downtown Dallas?

Well when I lived in Wichita Ks,gardening friend always said he was going to the Farmers market to buy those huge banana plants 10 t0 15 ft tall, that some guy digs up down by the coast and would always bring them to the market around April 15th,also he would by tropical plants real cheap.
Then you prob. want the Dallas Farmers Mkt. that I linked to. I know that there are some nurseries there (or maybe across the street) that would prob. sell the banana plants and other tropical plants. I haven't been there in a long time but when I was there last I definitely saw what you're looking for.
If you're interested in buying local produce, here's a link to one of the popular 'neighborhood' markets.
White Rock Local Market is a growers only/ makers only market, and accepts farmers and food artisans from 150 miles of Dallas.

Where's Bushland, TX?
Thanks
West of Amarillo 7 miles
Seems he said it was around the warehouse district, and it only lasted for 2 weeks,
I just spoke with someone at Ruibal's nursery at the downtown Farmer's Market. Altho I called about something else, he said that they are starting to get in a lot of tropicals and that they do sell the banana plants. They are a very large operation, especially at that location.
Centrally located in the heart of downtown Dallas (which is why your friend might have thought it was around a warehouse district)

Hope you know that tropicals prob. won't survive outside in your climate once it gets cold.
There are numerous plantsmen selling adjacent tp the farmers market. I'm betting that's what your friend meant. The mix of vendors changes some during the season, depending on what they are selling.
I am sure you will find what you need
There are also itinerant sellers who bring their stuff in a pickup and set up shop in a stall, sell what they
have and go back home. You might not see them ever again, or until the following year.
Farmers Market is like a box of chocolates !
Thanks for the info,
