Did Anyone go to Philadelphia Flower Show Today ???

Tell me what you think of this years production

No Mitt, We are going Thursday.

We are expecting a major snow storm and ice Sunday and Monday Holly.

I was disappointed this year with the displays. It seemed the focus was art and color and less on flowers and gardening. The vendors area appeared to take up half the floor. Maybe it's just me so let me know your thoughts on the Flower Show.

Thanks Mitt, we are planning on going Thursday by train. I will let you know what we think.

Holly and I spent a good chunk of today at the ER. We got there before they got busy and got out as the weather started. Doc said it is a pinched sciatic nerve, they gave her an anti-nausea med, then some really good drugs (injection), and a RX for muscle relaxers. She's resting now and I hope a little better tomorrow. It looks like no Philly show this year, but I'm hoping she's well enough for Maryland next weekend. I'll have to see if there's any You Tube postings on Philly.

I did not attend but saw this blog post from An Obsessive Neurotic Gardener who did go. Must have been amazing!

What do you think: Was it beautiful or hideous? How would you have felt if you went to a flower show expecting to see... well... flowers and saw this instead?

I think I would have been shocked and disgusted by the "dead"ness of it at first. But then after you step out of the Flower Show mentality, you come around to the beauty of the architecture of the plants.
