March is upon us and we need to start planning our Round Up. April 5 is a Saturday and I have already put in an order for glorious weather at the farm. Now we need people to come out and enjoy a pretty spring day with friends, swapping plants and sharing stories.
I will set up a swap thread in a day or two, and closer to the day I will set up a food thread.

Spring Central TX RU Sign Up April 5 @ Rouxcrew Farm
Me Me Me!!!
I'll be there. Joy would you pot up some stinging nettle now, a small one? Maybe it will establish well and I wont lose it. I need to keep trying to get a pot of that to grow
Geez Marty, I have been hacking and digging stinging nettle all afternoon. My hands are still stinging from occasional touches on the backsides of my garden gloves which are breathable. I will see about digging up a smaller one. You do realize that they die back when it gets hotter, that may be why you had problems.
My scrambled eggs are starting to bloom at the front gate. Seems like they spread a lot from last year, yay!
Glad to have y'all.
I *think* Ray and I will be there. I have to consult the oracle to be sure. My big news is that we're not moving until October 2014. (We originally were aiming for May.)
I :( let all my houseplants die because I didn't want to have to drive them East. Now I have a bunch of dead plants.
Carrie, you and Ray are going to drive to Hempstead Texas for this RU? That is awesome. You will love it. It's a working sheep ranch with the smartest dogs, the cutest baby lambs and goats and the bestest hosts you'll ever want to meet: Joy and Dave.
OMG, tt's not where I thought it was! That's Burleson. ABORT! ABORT! Mayday, mayday. Thanks, Marty. This state is so LARGE!
Count me in!
I can probably bring some fairly established lettuce by then, if I don't manage to kill them in the next few weeks! Didn't realize so many of the seeds would sprout!
I know I wont make this one. If I get thru the 12/13th I will let ya know....almost have those grape vines close enuff to the ground to layer
David says he is coming. He gets off at 8am and maybe can catch a few ZZ's before we head out. :)
Poor Carey! We love the spaces and ranges. It does take a bit of checking first to find some of these towns! It is a totally different world just to go visiting here.
Joy will you be opening the trade thread and food thread soon?
Here is the trade thread.

Count me in. Marking my calendar. Will have to get back to you on who will come with me.
:~)
I'm sorry but I have a commitment that day. Hopefully, next time. Thanks & enjoy!
Ralph & I will be there..however we would have to bring our two dogs (West Highland White Terriers) & we need to know exactly where the farm is as I've never been. We would need to see if we need to stay overnight at a hotel depending on the drive.
I will be there and probably Mark. Carey, bring your hubby so they can talk bikes, running, etc...!! A friend of Mark's has offered to help revamp our back yard gardens, starting tomorrow. I'll bring some before and after pics! Not sure how many plants I'll have to share, but will bring something :)
Janet
Well, I managed to kill my lettuce off (wind took out my little greenhouse while we were out of town last week) HOWEVER, Joy, for you I'm working on layering some Caldwell Pink cuttings. I have so many offshoots that are laying on the ground it should hopefully go easily.
As for sharing, well, I lost TONS this winter that I didn't expect. I'll evaluate over the next few days what I can share and can bring.
Janet, I'll see what I can. :)
Joy should we have a food thread as we have less than 2 weeks.
I really need anyone whom wants something from me to list here or dmail me. I have so much listed and not bringing much not ask for. NO need to have something to trade. This winter was very hard on all of us so if I can help anyone get a start to replanting let me know :)
Here is our food list

We would love to have some of you Dallas folks come down and get warm. The wildflowers are really starting to come on, it would be a lovely drive down.
Has anyone heard from GymGirl? Sent her a dmail about our RU and haven't heard back.
Shes watching veg forum most and her dmails stay quiet usually.
Joy she participated in the atlas glove co-op and said she isn't going to make it. I am to give her gloves to steadycam
I forgot to add that I will bring pasta of some sort!!!
I am assuming it's ok to bring my dogs so we will go ahead & book a hotel for the night!! I am getting really excited!!!!!!
Cindy I am sorry I didn't post that as long as your dogs are on a leash till in the confines of my yard, they are welcome. I have livestock guardian dogs that patrol the pastures.
Glad to have you. There is a great little mom and pop hotel just 3 minutes away. Fabulous people and lovely rooms. I don't know what your budget is, but we always recommend them.

Hi Joy,
My dogs will certainly be on a leash...I wouldn't have it any other way! Being Westies they would lvoe to help out the work dogs!! HAHAHAHAHA..... I will have Ralph check out the hotel, as I know he's been looking at a few. Thanks.
Do we need to bring door prizes?????
Guys I am so sorry I am behind on everything. Since we are a smaller group I have a couple fun things for us to do. Two kinds of seed starting pots made from recycled things, and if I have time to stop by a big box store, I can show y'all how to make the cattail feeders, and take one home.
We are covered up this weekend with our spring sheepdog trial at the farm, I will be able to breathe after that.
Bring an inexpensive garden oriented door prize for our swap. I have several tables, and various chairs available.
We can bring a chair or two for us. Joy, don't worry of you don't get what you want done, I am sure we all agree that we can entertain ourselves with getting to know one another!! hahaha
Joy just let us know if you need anything picked up. I am sure myself and others won't mind helping out.
Cindy yes we like to entertain ourselves. :)
We picked up some red onion and yellow 1015 onion starts at Lowe's and will have 20 of each if anyone wants some.
Looking forward to the trip!
Joy,
So sorry I have not rung in before now. Unfortunately, once again, regrets I can't be with you guys.
I've been sick off and on since Thanksgiving, and am only getting back to myself in the last two weeks. I haven't wanted to be around a lot of people either, in order to get better. My doc said my immune system was way low, and I kept picking up everything, one right behind the other for almost three months. I had to take a break from socializing, until I built myself and my resistance up.
Now, I'm playing catch-up here on ALL fronts!
My yard and garden are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind, and, so is my housework, and the music for the church. Every spare moment so far has been spent trying to get back on track.
Prayerfully, I'll pray to join you guys at the next RU! Sure gonna miss ya'll!
Hugs!
Linda

Praying you will be better soon Linda..I can SO relate to being sick!!!!
Unfortunately, I will be unable to come on Saturday. My thyroid is low again, I'm exhausted and although I haven't gotten any "bugs", I am barely staying with the game over here at home. Hopefully by fall I'll have gotten balanced again and can join you at the next Roundup. Have a ton of fun.!!
Janet
Sorry you are not feeling well Janet... best thing to do is take care of YOU!
Really sorry your not feeling well. Hope to see you in the fall
I am sorry as well for both of y'all. Been missing your wisdom Linda, and I hope That you and Janet both start feeling better.
Anyone needs directions let me know.
