Lavender cotton?

Alba, TX(Zone 8a)

Just picking out some new plant ideas for filling in some of my rose beds. So Lavender Cotton (Santolina Ericoides)? Good plant for NE Texas? Invasive? I don't know much about it so any info will help.

Spring is just around the corner! Woohoo!

Terri, I know that plant as Grey Santolina and Ive been trying to find it after seeing it recommended for Texas landscapes. Ive never seen it in any nursery around here. It looks like a great plant, drought and heat tolerant.

I was daydreaming yesterday on Bluestone Perennials and saw it. Looks good on paper.

I have the green santolina (santolina virens). It is not invasive, grows in clumps and stays evergreen. After it blooms, it should be deadheaded and if it gets too large for you, just cut it back as you do other perenials. I think it is a little less hardy than the gray, but it hasn't been harmed this winter. I love it.
