Hi,
I planted a couple of Amer de Berthecourt Cider Apple trees a couple of years ago and have started espallier training them. I am at the point where I need to do some serious pruning and I am a bit tentative to start hacking away. I have several pomology books and pruning guides so I have the basics down but the structure of these trees is not typical of what is picutured in these guides. The trees are very long an whip like and I can't figure out where they set fruit as I have seen no pictures of this variety fruiting and have no references. Anyone have experience with this variety? I will try to post some pictures shortly.
Thank you,
Norwest
