Saw these two birds at Willis, TX (about 70 miles north of Houston) on Feb 6th. I think the sparrow is a Chipping Sparrow? And maybe the thrush is a Hermit Thrush, but I'm not sure of either. I picked Hermit only because it is more commonly in the area. The Wood Thrush is around during migration, so it is possible. I didn't get any shots from the front.
CLOSED: Chippie? and One of the Thrushes?
Yep, Hermit Thrush - it's a Catharus thrush, not a Wood Thrush, and even in Texas it's a bit early for the other Catharus species.
The other is a White-throated Sparrow

Oh! I missed that sparrow.
Thanks much, Resin.
