They have 100s of names in New England for different kinds of cold stuff that falls down. Freezing rain is different from Frozen rain is different from Hail is different from Ice pellets . As I've said before, the stuff all belongs in a drink with a paper umbrella. And then there's slush and sludge and mush--the same? Different? Yuck.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

Freezing fogs are more of a west coast phenom- known also as Hoarfrost. Rough to drive in. Places I have had to deal with them are Iowa, Utah, Nevada, Portland, Ore. They are sneaky, cuz the fog simply looks like fog, but it is slippery as owls ****. This year the freezing fogs are all over the states. Yes. They are all different shades of cold and humidity, sludge is more of a mixture of things.
