Starting Star of Bethlehem from leaf cutting indoors?

West Babylon, NY(Zone 7a)

Someone snipped a leaf from their plant and asked me if I can get it to grow roots to become a new plant, but since its Winter it has to be indoors.

Do I put the leaf in water and if riots grow put it in soil or start in soil, I have rooting hormone.

Well, since no one has replied, I will.
My thought is: since it is a "bulb", I can't imagine it growing from a stem. I have "gobs" of Star of Bethlehem, and if anyone wants some, let me know. It's aggressive. My mom grew it back in Oklahoma, and it didn't seem to be so aggressive there, but it really likes it here. I mainly grow it because it reminds me of Mom.

So it won't form a new bulb in soil?

Pineapple lily will. Never tried star of Bethlehem but they are so weedy

(edited to add a "y" on the weed. Phones are not the best way to input statements, are they?)

I wouldn't think so. You know, someone who will probably know this is blomma. Look her up and ask her.
