I am asking for information for my neighbor. She has a mandarin tree that needs to go into the ground. She has two choices for planting. We have 6' wood privacy fences around the back yards. The Southwest corner of her back yard gets wind from the north and some of the sun is blocked by the fence. The northwest corner of her yard gets protection from the north wind from her fence and more sun. Aesthetically she would like to have it in the southwest corner, but feels that probably the northwest corner is better for the tree. If you grow mandarins would you mind to give us an opinion? Thanks.
Mandarin Tree Question
We grow a Mandarin tree but in a pot. If it were me I would block as much of the cold north wind as possible.
Thanks Morgan C.
