Love the article! And now I want the plant! Found the pictures Frostweed posted in the Texas Native Plant thread, and I'm in love! ! I want that plant! Anyone have any ideas as to where I can beg, borrow, steal, or preferably buy it? Also, would it grow down here in this semi-arid location?

Hmmm its a native even in Houston, when Frosrtweed id'd mine I garnered seeds. It will grow in Kingsville down there by Corpus just fine. Can get 5' to 6' tall so does well with grasses that are tall as well. If no one volunteers any of them Let me know and when next I am home I can send seed.

I think that the cutting I got from Josephine at the Fall RU is a casualty of my neglectful behavior. Should I just it back (it's in a pot) or just wait until next spring to try again?

They do die back in the winter, but are hardy and return in the spring. I need to cut mine back.

Just leave it alone for now, it may still be alive.

Josephine, do you trim it back now or in February?

Any time you are ready to do it, I think this year with all the ice and cold at the same time, we didn't get to see the beautiful ice crystals from the stems, they were covered up.
