Rose of sharon seedlings to trade

Waynesboro, PA(Zone 6a)

I have about a dozen common Rose of Sharon seedlings, ranging from about 1 foot to about 4 foot tall. The color will be the ordinary lavender/light purple shade. These seedlings come from a mother plant that has a tendency to form a small tree shape and be a bit "weepy." I can't guarantee the seedlings will follow suit or will be the more ordinary upright shapes. These would make an excellent small hedge or screen if someone wants the lot. Or, I'd be ok with trading the bigger ones individually.

I'm interested in trading for other common garden plants: any type of hosta or fern; perennial geraniums (any color); daylilies (any color but the tawny/orange/wild type); ajuga.

I garden in Southcentral PA, so trade would probably be best postponed until spring, but thought I'd get this out there in case anyone's interested. Thanks!

I don't need ROS plants, but I have a bunch of tropical ferns you can have if you want to pay postage in advance. They are most likely Nephrolepis exaltata cv. Bostoniensis. Just dmail me if you want some.

Hi Kay, Sorry, I need hardy (zone 5-6) ferns for my woodland garden.

Lysmachia, how long would you think they'd have to grow before showing a weeping nature?

Waynesboro, PA(Zone 6a)

For the taller plants, I would think at least 2-3 years. The ROS shrub that I have (the mother plant) seems to be a natural variation of the normal more upright type. I have one seedling from it that definitely also has this same sort of "tree" shape, with a tendency to weep downward (the weeping is not as definite as with a weeping cherry, but the branches do tend to grow horizontally from the trunk and then curve downward. If you'd like to have one to see what happens, I'd be glad to send it. I'll try to get a pic of the ROS to post: I should have thought of that sooner! Thanks for the interest

I would be glad to send Rose of Sharon cuttingsin the Spring if you will remind me then. I have about 5 varieties including 3 pink and rose doubles and a few older plants that are sterile 5" whites from USDA. ( I have lost the name, but these are special.)

arfitz, Can I remind you next spring also? Last year I asked for cuttings and failed to send you an address. Sorry!! I will do better this time, promise. Alda
