Has Anyone Seen This?

Fulshear, TX(Zone 9b)

There are two patches of this in my grass and a neighbor, several miles away, saw the same thing on their grass. It looks like some kind of eggs to me but I really don't know. Anyone?

I think it is a type of black sooty mold, not eggs.

I think you're right, Josephine.

Howard Garrett (the Dirt Doctor) identified it as slime mold. Terrible name but rather harmless mold. Thanks!!

Thank goodness it is harmless
