Having trouble identifying and wondering if it is just passing through or changed colors for the season.
I don't think it is exotic or anything, but can't find a good match in my bird book. Thanks in advance.
CLOSED: Bird in Southern Maine this week
Dark-eyed Junco, female. Much drabber than the male, which is probably what is shown in your book!

Thanks as always. It was the male in the book I have....
If it doesn't show half the bird population . . . time to get a better book ;-)
Look out for Sibley's North American Bird Guide, that's widely considered the best for North America.
