Pink Schoolhouse Lily Seed Question

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I found opening seed pods on my pink schoolhouse lilies! Does anyone know if the seeds are viable or are they sterile? I saved them yesterday when it was drippy outside, so they are in my hutch drying out on a paper plate. That's the only place I can put anything where the cats won't play with them! LOL

They are just beautiful! don't know if they would be viable but I would certainly keep and see.

Rhodophiala bifida. propagate by seeds and bulbs

I guess I'll plant some and see if they germinate. Of course, they won't have any growth until next year, right?

Bulbs grow thru our winters, put on tops in spring... Add bonemeal for the bulb growth and stick em in the ground. That might not work if you were in, say, North Dakota.... Those are gorgeous colors- I had thought all oxblood lilies were scarlet red, chuckl. My ooops.

The bulbs are a native and the seeds should come true...if I remember correctly, it is about 3 years to bloom from seed...by all means, save and grow out!..I love the pink and I even found a pink and white 'sort-of' striped...!

These don't produce any leaves until after they bloom. Then the leaves stay through the winter. I'll have to experiment!
