will cocoa (chocolate) grow in Texas? They are clear cutting forests to grow it with horrible labor practices and I don't eat too much.
will cocoa (chocolate) grow in Texas?
I have no idea.

I think the answer is no but with a green house, I guess one could grow anything.
Here is another link, this one about someone who tried to grow it in Arizona. The zone is 10 and 11 so the Valley is the only candidate in Texas and there is probably not enough humidity there.

It grows all over Costa Rica so, I guess if you are in a part of Texas that doesn't freeze.....
Grows very well in Puerto Rico...and parts of Mexico...fairly certain it would not thrive in central Texas...or parts north of it.
oh well, it was a nice idea. I want to get some tea bushes and I thought well, my other favorite think is chocolate and it certainly gets hot here...
Grow some chocolate mint. Makes a really nice tea. Yum.
Just put some in, hoping to get a harvest before first frost but not holding my breath
You could always give it a shot. I'm trying to grow a few things that "can't grow here". Then again, it just takes someone telling me that it can't be done to make me try!
Impossible is such an inviting word, lol
Indeed!
