CLOSED: I need lots of Virginia Creeper

Mesilla Park, NM

Anyone have several cuttings or rooted plantlets they can trade or for postage if you are going to trim back? I'd love to try rooting them and get them going for spring. I can trade grape cuttings of for or five types of grapes. I have not rooted grape cuttings before but am going to give that a try too with little bundles ..

Would love to hear from anyone that can spare some or wants to get rid of some.. I want to cover at least two of our three sheds . I also can send cactus ,rooted or cuttings.

Thank you guys for reading this and looking forward to a trade or two.

P.S. I need the one that turns crimson reds, maroons.. Only. Thank you..

I know you marked this as closed, was it because you haven't gotten any replies? Just wondering if you still wanted some because I have a bunch. Anyway, let me know.

Thanks,
Michelle

Thank you so very much... I did get a couple of boxes and have a couple of offers .. Again I thank you and I will dmail you if I killed the one I got. I had to plant it in November and I had to put it into pots. I'm hoping it didn't freeze outside.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I've seen that stuff make it through from sub-zero temps, to two weeks of a roasting 111* (which cooked alot of other plants, even 50 year old oaks); and from 3 months of excessive rain to a three year drought. So I don't think you can kill it if you tried. But maybe that's just for well established plants, Idk, But anyway, the offer still stands. Just let me know.

Think twice about where you put it. It will leave a mess on whatever is beneath it twice a year. When flowers are spent and when it drops seed and for a month each time.

Thank you , ive seen it on one chainlink fence here and it stsys about the same size, we moved here in 2006 and it is just a tad longer so im thinking it wont grow that fas but i may water moere than those folks. We have an acre it isnt as big as all the property owners around us, hopfully we will have no regrets later. Ill try to keep it away from the main house though. I checked on the roots and stems that are in containers and they seem pliable so im still hopeful here. We are in the meddle of pecan orchards so we already have durn mice .

Im thinking of growing it in pots instead of in the ground at least for a year.

Thank you so much for offering and ill keep my fingers crossed that these will get buds come spring.

Deborah and everyone,

Thank you all for the offers, but, all the ones I've received are starting to sprout! There are leaf nodes coming alive ...

Thank you txaggiegal. What she sent me will most likely be enough. I'm grateful for all the offers, but i think what I got so far will cover at least two sheds.

Thank you all again.
A.
