This is an amazing real variety, grows unique rainbow ears that after can be popped into popcorn. Heirloom so it grows true from seed. I'm getting some! http://www.odditycentral.com/foods/a-feast-for-the-eyes-the-beautiful-glass-gem-corn.html
Glass Gem corn (rainbow corn)
yep, got some seed myself to try next year, it is a flint corn, so it can be used for popping (although i've heard this type doesn't pop very well, ground into cornmeal for cornbread, grits, etc., or obviously decorative purposes :)
Pretty amazing, especially the red and blue kernels.

Do different kernels produce colored ears?
from what ive read, the color of the kernel will not indicate the colors of the ears, the colors would be a totally random arrangement on every ear. Also note that once ears dry out, the colors dull a slight bit.
